Introduction
The Dice Roller is a free online virtual dice simulator that lets you roll all standard role-playing game dice with a single click. Whether you are playing Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, or any tabletop RPG, or need dice for board games and classroom probability lessons, our dice roller provides fair, instant results. Choose from D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, and D20 dice - the most common RPG dice. Roll multiple dice at once and see the total calculated automatically. No need to carry physical dice anymore - your virtual dice are always available!
Key Features
- All standard RPG dice: D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20
- Roll multiple dice of the same type at once
- Automatic total calculation for all dice
- Roll history to track previous throws
- Fair random results every time
- Works on any device
Example / Use Case
Roll D20 for RPG Battle
A Dungeons & Dragons player needs to roll a 20-sided die to determine if their attack hits the enemy monster.
Input
Dice Type: D20 | Number of Dice: 1
Output
Result: 17
How It Works
Each die type has a different number of sides and represents different probability distributions. A D6 (standard cube die) has equal probability for each face (1/6). A D20 used in RPGs gives results from 1-20. The probability of rolling any specific number on a fair die is always 1 divided by the number of sides. Multiple dice rolls can be summed - when rolling multiple dice, the distribution becomes bell-shaped (more likely to roll near the average). For other random tools, try our Random Number Generator or Coin Flip.
How to Use
- 1Select the type of die you want to roll (D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, or D20)
- 2Choose how many of that die type to roll (1-10)
- 3Click the roll button to generate results
- 4View individual die results and the total sum
- 5Roll again as many times as needed
